9th EletroMetalCon Award for Innovative Projects (9º Prêmio EletroMetalCon de Projetos Inovadores)
The project from Welding and Mechatronics Institute (LABSOLDA/UFSC) “TIG Orbital Automated Welding System for Small Diameter Tubes” was ranked first in the 9th Brazilian National EletroMetalCon Award for Innovative Projects with Applicability in the Metallurgical, Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical Materials and Civil Construction Industry.

The 2017 edition of the EletroMetalCon Award for Innovative Projects registered a record number of entries with 48 works by undergraduate and graduate students from higher education institutions in 7 states in Brazil.
The 9th edition of the EletroMetalCon Award for Innovative Projects also had the highlight of rewarding the teams of the selected projects with trophies made by a team of students from the Faculdade da Indústria Senai Londrina. The developed trophy was designed to enhance the use of different types of metals in the colors yellow, silver and red, used respectively for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. In the theme of the trophies, the different elements that make up the logo of the EletroMetalCon Award for Innovative Projects were used, represented by a human head and several gears, symbolizing the human capacity for development and achievement, essence of the objectives of the referred award.
